In the wake of a very cheesy but oh-so-right series finale, I’ve been re-watching the Office. It has the honor of being the first TV show that I emotionally invested myself in. Its quality faltered at times (I’m looking at you, seasons 6-8), but I stuck through because of these moments. I needed these moments, because they remind me that a shy, insecure, and scared person like me does not have to be afraid of being alive. Fictional characters like Jim have encouraged me to take more risks, to be more vulnerable, to be more honest with myself. Here’s to all of us Jim.

Ugh. Late night Tumblr confessions. I should really act like I graduated high school already.

Not particularly. It’s been up there for a long time. Hypno was part of my beloved Pokemon Blue team.

I prided myself on using him to beat my rival’s faster, stronger Alakazam; it gave me the satisfaction of an underdog victory. I would teach him Mega Punch, because Hypno’s Attack stacks up nicely against Alakazam’s pitiful Defense. It’s fun for a kid to imagine Hypno punching a snooty Alakazam in the face.

Finished this today! Reading a chapter or two per day was my Lenten devotion. I am not an aspiring contemplative by any means, but this work was full of encouragement and mystery.

Wine-Crucifix was originally painted as an altar-piece for the Student Chapel of the Catholic University in Graz, Austria. It hung loosely, without a frame, across a large window. Light shining through the cloth would reveal the shape of a cross beneath layers of paint. The title of the work evokes the transformation of wine into the blood of Christ. After the work was removed from its religious setting in the mid-1960s, the artist bought it back and in 1978 decided to rework it. ‘I realised that the quality and truth of the picture only grew as it became darker and darker’, Rainer has explained.
